I have good Google reviews. Do I still need a website?

The short answer

Yes, in most cases. Reviews help people trust you, but they don’t answer the next questions: what you do, where you work and what it costs. A simple website answers those questions in your own words, and gives Google and AI tools your facts to read.

What reviews do well

Reviews show that real people liked your work. Most people check reviews before they pick a local business.

Fresh reviews and replies from the owner matter too. So keep asking, and keep replying.

AI tools can suggest a name, but people still read reviews for themselves before they call.

What reviews can’t do

A review can’t list all your services. It can’t show your service area, your prices or your license. It can’t let someone book at 10pm.

People still want those answers before they call. If they can’t find them, they may call someone who shows them.

Where AI tools get their facts

ChatGPT and Google’s AI answers pull facts from many places. For local searches, ChatGPT draws on data providers like Foursquare and Yelp, plus results from the web.

Your website is the one place on that list where you control every word.

Most people will see it on a phone

Most people looking for a local pro are on a phone.

So your site must be quick and easy on a small screen, with a tap-to-call button at the top.

Do it yourself

  1. Search your business name on your phone. Write down what a stranger can’t find: services, area, hours, prices.
  2. Pick a simple site builder. One page is enough to start.
  3. Put your phone number at the top and make it tap-to-call.
  4. List each service in plain words, with a starting price if you can.
  5. List the towns or ZIP codes you serve.
  6. Add a few real photos of your work.
  7. Add the website link to your Google Business Profile.
